Pet Counseling

Like Their Human Counterparts – Pets Need Counseling Too

So you have a new cat, but what injections does your cat need?

Pet counseling can train your pet to be ‘purrfect !! ‘

Just like with dog training it is vital to understand why your dog misbehaves. Some dogs are just more prone to acting up than others. The biggest question is why do they act up and how do you get them to mind and follow the simplest of rules?

If your dog has been house broken and suddenly starts to have ‘accidents’ in the house then he is likely lashing out at you for leaving him alone all day. Or if he decides to start chewing up the furniture or your shoes then it needs more socialization in his life. However if he begins to ignore you when you come in or aggressively barks at you and refuses to calm down you may need to take him to the veterinarian for a pet counseling session.

It has recently been proven that our pets have feelings. They can get embarrassed when we dress them up in cutesy little outfits or shave them bald because their hair is too matted to save. Whatever the reasons that trigger them, our dogs do have feelings and they show them in various ways. When a dog is depressed he will be listless and refuse to eat. As the owner we may freak out that our beloved baby is dying and rush it to the vet to see what is wrong.

Here is where an experienced pet counselor can help to determine what is wrong with your four legged friend and how to go about fixing the problem. If it is a behavior issue the counselor will be able to help you determine what steps you need to take to help get your pet over his depression. If your dog is merely bored a counselor will be able to pick up on that also and recommend various ways to get your dog happily on his four feet again.

Prevention is a great way to keep your dog healthy. Take him for daily walks; pet him for at least eighteen minutes every day and play with him to keep him active and it will help to ensure a long and lively life for your pet.
