How To Train Your Dog

Training a dog isn’t easy, but it’s a necessity as pets can poop all around the home if you don’t contain them!

When you bring home that cute and adorable little bundle of fur, licking and jumping on you it’s so funny. But as the puppy grows into an adult and still has no manners it is time to find a way to train your dog. Having good manners is essential to a pet and its owner. Getting along well with other animals is a crucial part of being out in public on a leash and walking are fundamental tasks a dog must learn early in his life.

What you may not be able to do is teach your pet how to follow commands and to do simple functions without being told. To automatically be able to walk only on your right side or to wait to potty until they are outside are essentials to having a pet that is welcome in your home or in others. These fundamental teachings are only the beginning of what a dog should know in polite society.

It is best if your pet can sit on command and stay is a must if you don’t want to chase your pet through a busy thoroughfare at rush hour. Sit, stay and heal are three of the most common commands but if you have a dog who needs to run herd on a farm or take care of rounding up the cattle you will most certainly need to teach your pet whistle calls. Some owners will have to take their pets to a special trainer to teach both master and pet how to execute the commands properly and through repetition the dog will learn.

Taking your dog through the paces of training will ensure that your pet will be a well behaved and social animal who understands what is expected of him and can follow closely within the acceptable boundaries that you set. It is a simple matter of you mastering the dog and not allowing the dog to be your master. Once you have learned these commands it will be easy for you to teach your pet what is expected as well as teaching future animals that you will own.
