Cheap Pet Foods BEWARE

Don’t Be Fooled By The Price Tag On Cheap Pet Foods
Buying cheap food for your pet can wind up costing you extras down at the vets; don’t take the cheap dog food path!
When you bring home your new dog or cat one of the first things that you want to do is go buy it all the necessities needed for a comfortable transition into your home. What you may start out doing is purchasing a great brand of dog food that has all the healthy ingredients to ensure a well balanced diet. After several months or even a year you begin to think you can cut down on expenses by getting a cheap dog food or cat food. This is not really that great of an idea because it will do the exact opposite of what you are hoping to accomplish.
Cheap pet foods are exactly what you think they are – cheap. They generally don’t have enough proteins or vegetables to fill up your pet or keep him healthy. What it will do is make your dog poop more often which means it will eat more food and will end up costing you more in the long term. Dogs only eat when they are hungry and only eat what they need to survive so if you change their food it will throw off their systems and make them have irregular bowel movements. Once they adjust to the new food they will likely poop more frequently because there is nothing for them to digest.
Please don’t short your dog or cat buying cheap pet food because sometimes it causes intestinal distress and a trip to the veterinarian. It is much better to start them on and keep them eating a good nutritious brand of dog or cat food. Pick something they like to eat and stick with it. It really upsets their little tummies when you mess with their food source.
The same goes for table scraps and treats. Make sure that you give your dog the same type of treats from the time he’s a baby so you don’t disrupt his stomach. Table scraps are all right in moderation and if you make sure what you give your dog isn’t going to make him sick. Try not to give your pooch anything with spicy flavors or pork.
